The Garret Theatre Company is kicking off a Greek Reading Series in partnership with the Greek Cultural Center. Readings will begin in October with the plays of Aeschylus.
Anyone can participate! Roles will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis. These readings are free and open to the public. All plays will be broken into three sections, and who reads what will switch at each section. If you’d like to come and listen, that’s ok too! Reading not required.
We’ll gather on Tuesdays at 7PM (dates below), and plan to start reading at 7:30PM. There will be some icebreaking activities at the top of each reading. Time permitting, we’ll host a brief discussion after we finish the play.

All readings will take place at the
Greek Cultural Center (26-80 30th St).
TRANSPORTATION: N/W – 30th Ave stop near Newtown Ave on 30th Street.
The biggest thing we learned during the Oresteia is that it’s a challenge to get print copies of these plays! So, it would be super helpful if you did one of the following things:
- Bring a device to read the script on! (your phone will work)
- Get your own copy of the script!
- (You can then copy our chorus breakdown and sections from the PDF below)
- Print out your own copy of the script!
